BlueJam is a social enterprise running a youth and inter-generational Music and Arts programme in Cumbria and London.

Our aim is to promote innovative, high-quality Music and Arts activity in an inclusive and socially constructive way.

We specialise in the creation of original music and art in a variety of genres, media and contexts.

BlueJam can provide bands for your event, workshops for your group, plus training and resources. We hire out PA and engineers. Get in touch!

We heard the Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus give an incredibly inspiring speech about selflessness as part of the economic model. "Thanks so much for your contribution to our launch event last week. We thought that the music was pitched perfectly and it really added a good buzz to the room." Dot Pinkney, Deloitte.

Improv Choir in Workington- this workshop model piloted in Penrith is now being taken around the country - sponsored here in Workington by Soundwave's Opera project. BlueJam looks forward to more productive collaboration with this forward-looking initiative. See more info HERE. BlueJam Ceilidh on New Year's Eve - thanks to everyone who came, who played, who set up and cleared up - and special thanks to Bryony who took on the organising when I (Jilly) was laid up in bed. Also...big thanks to Roger Butterfield who took on the calling and made the event take shape. We raised nearly £100 for BlueJam!

Also big thanks to the Play Station and Andy Booth for supporting us.


BlueJam Band at Hawkshead Christmas Fair Dec 4:
BlueJam shivered but stayed dry on this big lorry in Hawkshead Market Square. Lovely event and they want us back next year!. Mix of jazz, folk world and acapella - all with frozen fingers and instruments going out of tune all the time.

The Fusion Recital raised £200 for BlueJam. Massive thanks to Fusion Cafe who hosted the event for free and to all the performers who donated their expenses. The event was full and gives us confidence for the future.

Friendly group of singers, led by Jilly Jarman. We sing jazz, gospel, world music including songs from Africa and Europe. We make a great sound and have done two gigs for the local school. Originally funded through Creative Partnerships as part of Bewcastle School's singing initiative, the choir hopes to carry on. Come and have a look in on us. Did you meet our spooky samba band! Rehearsals for young players are 4-5 Thursdays at North Lakes School, Penrith. £2. Experienced players please get in touch if you would like to be in the B Jamba band. Rehearsals 5pm at North Lakes School - £3.

NEWS: Solfest - brilliant again! BlueJam is especially proud of its connections past and present to great bands at Solfest this year: Room Full Of Owls on the Main Stage - fantastic set and dressed up as Superheroes too. Plus 'The User Friendly' getting everyone going in the dance tent and 'Alex and the Wander Band' attracting the whole of Penrith youth it seemed in the bar and mac tents. Gail & Jilly with original jazz in the mac tent and of course B Jamba making its sparkling debut on walkabout. And many more.....
